Sunny Southern Cal conditions welcomed over 100 sailors to the Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club Super Bowl Charity Regatta. This annual, “don’t miss” event for years, the annual event attracts a faithful following featuring all sorts of boats 25’ and under. Most notably this year the RS Tera class

consisted of 24 juniors from 7 SoCal RS Tera fleets.

Derek Taylor, Sailing and Aquatics Director at the Newport Sea Base said, "In years past, the sailors I’ve brought to SMWYC have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. It’s an ideal regatta for our variety of skill levels and offers a welcoming feel. It gives the sailors an opportunity to see what it takes to travel for a regatta and for some, it was the first time sailing in the ocean."

The regatta is #3 in the SoCal RS Tera High Point Series which rewards consistency and tracks

improvements.  Next up in the series are the ABYC Manning, LIYC Spring Dinghy and Westake Series Final.
