SoCal junior sailors were greeted on the open ocean with near ideal conditions, 8 knots of breeze, light chop and a Southern swell with giant rollers over 10 feet from trough to peak at times. Hosted by Dana West Yacht Club, this was the first of six regattas in the 2022-23 Socal RS Tera Hi-Point Series.
Twenty-one youth from Oceanside, Dana Point, Newport, Alamitos and Marina del Rey completed five races. Top honors to Xyler Lee from Oceanside YC, Theo Goodman and Megan Farmer from Alamitos Bay YC. Full results posted below. Photos courtesy Jeff Johnson.
